Fall Project-2014 Continued

Hooray for Crystal. She has finished her very first quilt top!!!! What an accomplishment and the results are stunning!! Way to go, Crystal.

Vera has a great start on her Carpenter's Star quilt top. Love those colors!

Billie always has a beautiful quilt top. For this one she used scraps her daughter gave her. Quite impressive from a bag of scraps. Don't you love these colors, too?

Kathy has the borders on her quilt top. These colors really POP!!!

Sue's quilt top looks a lot like Christmas! Barbara is always ready to lend a helping hand!

This is a king-sized quilt top Kathy made with the help from her aunt who has since passed away. This quilt is all hand-pieced and hand-quilted. WOW is all I can say!!!

Kay has the borders on her quilt top. Sure looks like Fall to me.

What a spectacular quilt top in black and white. Sandy has just a few more borders to add.

Louise is finished with her quilt top! BEAUTIFUL! These Carpenter's Star quilt tops were easy to do and all turned out to be TOP STARS! What a great fall project!!!!

Fall Project 2014

Kay has her fall project almost finished. She just needs to add the borders. Don't you just love the fall colors? She used her fabric scraps for this top!

Kathy is close to finishing, too. Her bright colors make her star POP! WOW!

Sue made her top in just one day. Love the red and green fabrics! Hope we see her finished top soon.

Debbie finished her top at a quilt retreat north of Dallas. She used her scraps, too!

A couple of photos of the quilt we made for Joel, DeAnn and Caleb, our new church pastor and his family! Thanks to all who helped. The quilt really turned out nice!

Stonewall Retreat - June 2014

Sue was on the ball at this retreat! Here is her first completed project.

Debbie finally finished binding her quilt. Cathy showed her how to glue baste it to finish quickly.

Sue purchased some new fabric at the quilt shop in Fredericksburg and is making a quilt using the "10-Minute" block.

Kathy's finished quilt for her daughter. Her daughter likes owls. The Minkie in the quilt nearly drove Kathy crazy!

YES! Jatana finished a row of stars. Aren't they beautiful?

Debbie finished her quilt blocks (just need borders now) and made a Minkie wrap for her granddaughter. Those beautiful blocks on the right were made by Cathy.

Kathy finished her Texas quilt. She did lots of machine quilting on it.

March & April Meetings - 2014

This beautiful quilt was made by Sue who claims she doesn't like bright colors? Really??

We had a special visit from baby William with his Mom and Grandmother. Isn't he a cutie?

Kay completed her beautiful black and white quilt. This pattern was our project for 2013-2014. I think Kay is the only one who has finished the project!!!

Sewing for Nicaragua-February 2014

We can't have a sewing day without food! Bea is digging in!

Vivian (right) asked our sewing group to help her make 40 rag dolls. She will take these dolls with her to Nicaragua to share the plan of salvation. Cathy is eager to start sewing with Vivian.

Ladies seated on the left side of the table are assembling the doll heads with various laces and yarns for hair. Those on the right are sewing the dolls together. Vivian's daughter is on the right in the purple blouse. Barbara (standing in the red blouse) is supervising! Further down the table Sue and Louise are turning the dolls right side out. We had a really great assembly line going!

Another group of ladies assembled these necklaces for the dolls. The black beads represents sin, red is the blood of Jesus, white stands for purity, blue represents water baptism, green represents continual growth in Jesus, and gold represents the streets of heaven!

Kim is stuffing a rag doll. It takes lots of concentration!

On this end of the table, ladies were turning the rag dolls right side out. There's Louise and Sue again!!!

Barbara, Shirley and Sue are all working hard now!

YES! We finally have some dolls finished!

Kim switched to the face painting station and did a terrific job! Those faces were so cute!!

Everyone is still hard at work!

We just keep adding dolls to our collection.

Kay switched from sewing to painting faces with Kim. Barbara is tying the necklaces on the dolls.

Vivian's step-mom is working hard (in the pink blouse). Her dad is supervising!

Ladies at this station were hand sewing the dolls together.

AND . . . here they are! We made 40 rag dolls in a little over 4 hours! God was with us all the way!
