The Continuing Saga of our Radiant Stars

Debbie's star is finished - FINALLY! No more set-in corners for her!
After some initial piecing problems, Jewel's star turned out to be a beauty!
You can see Cherri's star in the foreground. Everyone is visiting before Bible Study.
More discussions as Kay offers quilting suggestions.

Radiant Star - Meeting #2

Rhonda is ironing her first set of strips. Way to go, Rhonda!!
After doing a little sewing, then some un-sewing, Sandy is sewing once again! I think she is talking a little, too.
Jewel has lots of strips cut and is sewing away on them!
Kay and Sue discuss Sue's quilt that first wanted to be a baby boy's quilt, but just insisted on being a baby girl's quilt!! And yes, Sue is a closet army private!
Debbie is reading her instruction book and sewing her strips, finally!
Cherri was a little late to the meeting, but look how far she has come on her star - just beautiful! Don't you just love the colors?

Radiant Star - Preparation Meeting

Jewel, Sandy and Billie are all hard at work while Barbara supervises.
Cherri and Darlene eagerly discuss the project while Lynda studies her current project.
Kathy, our math whiz, carefully measures and cuts her strips. Barbara is intensively studying something there in the background!
Cherri and Darlene are admiring Lynda's 'Trip Around the World' quilt. Lynda did a great job. By the way, she purchased a whole bolt of blue fabric to finish her quilt. Her husband insisted she purchase the bolt. What a guy!!
Bea is cutting out fabric for two Radiant Star quilts. Guess what color one of them will be . . . you guessed it, PURPLE!
Billie is looking on while Sue is cutting her strips. We were all pretty sure that Sue would make a blue star. She was short on blue fabric, so will have to purchase more. Oh no . . . another trip to a fabric store. What a shame! (Only kidding!!!)
Vera and Maxine discussing all sorts of stuff.
This is Kay's finished Radiant Star quilt. All of our quilts aspire to look like this beauty!

Quilt Party at Sandy's - July 18, 2012

The Graceful Quilters met at Sandy's home for a wonderful mid-summer party. We are pictured here in front of Sandy's quilt house!
In this photo we have Bea's sister-in-law with us (pictured right in bright blue). She is visiting from Plainview, TX.
This is Kay's beautiful radiant star quilt. This is going to be our next group project starting this fall. YIKES!! Be brave ladies, be brave! We have Kay to lead us!

A photo taken in Sandy's quilt room. We see she has a microwave for warming snacks and coffee. By the way, Sandy fed us in style - such YUMMY food and sweets! Thanks, Sandy!

Quilt Retreat - June 2012

Kathy and Sue showing off Sue's colorful quilt.
Cathy and her table cloth - WOW!
Debbie and her 'sorta' Trip Around the World quilt. I think it only goes part way around the world and takes lots of detours.
Sue hard at work on place mats.

Kathy and Sue with Kathy's  first quilt - 'Trip Around the World".
Now we see Sue's  "Trip Around the World" quilt.
Sue is still hard at work.
Our Math Whiz Kathy is going to measure something.
Sandy just posing for a photo. She gets busy soon!
Cathy - taking photos and not quilting. By the way, Cathy did NOT knit a single stitch this weekend. She just quilted the whole weekend away! Yeah for Cathy!
I told you that Sandy got busy. This is a Christmas present. Isn't she planning ahead??
Kathy's 2nd quilt. She has certainly figured out this quilting thing.
More Christmas gifts made by Sandy.
Cathy with her 'set-in-point' quilt. We had to use our calculators for this one.
Kathy is working on wedding table runners for her daughter's wedding.
Debbie finished her very, very easy quilt top.
Cathy started on another quilt - bling, bling, bling.
Rhonda quilting and texting on the couch. Is that legal??
Debbie finished binding her brown quilt.
View from the front door of the Quilt Haus. God creates such breath-taking views for us to enjoy.
Taking a break from quilting.

Sue's Quilt of Many Colors

Although you might not be able to tell, Sue has completed the top of her colorful quilt. And she tells us she doesn't like bright colors!
