Winter 2013 Quilt Projects

Jewell has really been busy. She is hand-quilting this beauty.

Jewell has also completed one of our spring/summer projects (right) and has nearly completed a second one (left). This is the Moonlit Star pattern. Both are gorgeous.
Darlene is almost finished with her Radiant Star quilt. She has added so much more to the original pattern. This quilt is spectacular!
Sue is almost finished with her Moonlit Star table topper. She always goes for the bright colors to match her personality! Really pretty . . .
Kathy started this quilt top at retreat. It is made from decorations she made for her daughter's wedding reception. Don't you just love black and white quilts? Her daughter will be so pleased. The plan is to add borders to make it king-sized.

Busy Over the Holidays

A few of our members were busy over the holidays working on quilt projects. Kay completed this beautiful mini-quilt. Those pieces are too small for me! But she pieced them perfectly.

Jewel made this beauty from just a few fat quarters - I must say it is very spring-like!

Billie keeps making these huge king-sized quilts. These blocks are from two different projects, both from 'Women of the Bible'. Instead of making two quilts, she made one using all of the blocks. What a beauty!!!

Quilt Retreat - January 2013

Do you think we had enough food for the weekend? We didn't want to starve.

Cathy and Cynthia are discussing the finer points of quilting. Or they are discussing the 'stupid goats making stupid noises' video.
Kay and Kathy diligently working on their projects.

Judy, Jatana and Kay cutting, ironing and sewing. My aren't we busy?
Debbie was first to finish a project!!! I think she cheated a little . . .
Judy's first and last star of the weekend!

YES! Kay finished machine appliqueing those pesky dogs. She kept losing their noses!!
Cynthia's very first quilt. Isn't it just beautiful? Way to go Cynthia!!!
Kay's second completed project was her 'Women of the Bible' quilt.

Jatana's project pile, but where is Jatana? Probably at the quilt store.
Sandy made a 'fluffy' quilt for her sweetie, John. Now he won't use the quilts on the back of their couches . . . well we hope not!

We took a break for a group photo - what a beautiful group of women. And I see that Jatana made it back from the quilt store in time for the photo. (First row: Judy, Debbie, Cathy, Kathy; Second Row: Sandy, Cynthia, Jatana, Kay)
Judy made her sweetie, William, a beautiful rag quilt. Doesn't that look warm and cozy?
Kathy needs to take a break! She sewed her strip wrong. Oh well . . . happens to the best of us! Right Jatana?
Cathy and Cynthia relaxing. Where did Cathy get that orange hat!

Sandy is trying to eat and quilt all at once. I don't think that works very well.
Kay is just happy to be at retreat! (We all were, too!)
Kathy is just about finished with her daughter's wedding quilt. It was made from the table runners and decorations that Kathy made at last retreat for her daughter's wedding. What a great idea.
Debbie's 2nd finished project. She looks rather surprised or maybe she just needs a shower!
Sandy, Kay, Jatana and Kathy working so hard!
Sandy is just sewing away. I'm not sure what Kathy is doing. Did she just see a bug or did she see Kay and Jatana's project piles!

Our gracious hostess, Kay is showing us a quilt kit she brought back from Amsterdam. Judy is looking at the bug Kathy saw??? Jatana is working feverishly to finish her quilt.
Kay and Jatana hold up Jatana's first t-shirt quilt. I think she is on her way to enjoy many, many years of wonderful quilting!
This is Kathy's 2nd baby quilt. This one is for a boy, the other one is for a girl. Her daughter is not pregnant but Kathy is planning ahead and ready!!!

Kay nearly finished her sampler quilt the group did last year. Just one more row. Isn't it a beauty!
